Position description
The Ron Joyce Centre for Business Studies/Commerce Department at ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Allison University invites applications for a part-time stipendiary appointment in Sackville to teach a course entitled COMM4311A-Strategic Management. This capstone course builds on prior commerce courses and enables the students to understand the interdependencies between organizational functions and see the organization as a whole. Students will apply theoretical concepts and practical tools to analyze any organization as a dynamic system that interacts with its environment and responds to multiple stakeholders. Various materials such as case studies, role plays, simulations, and discussions of academic literature may be used so that students will learn how to formulate and implement strategies in different organizational and industry settings. The course is scheduled with 1 section on Tuesdays/Thursdays at 1:00 for 90 minutes in the Fall academic term 2026. The class size is approximately 75 students.
Although the course is scheduled in person on the Sackville campus, the possibility of delivering the course in a hybrid format (in-person and online) or synchronously online (fully online on the days/times) may be considered.
Please note the importance of responding to students’ questions through regularly scheduled and publicly posted virtual or in-person office hours. Timely engagement during these office hours is an important component of student support and communication.
Qualifications/Skills:
Candidates must have experience teaching Business Studies courses at the undergraduate university level, demonstrate a strong commitment to high quality undergraduate teaching and engagement, and a graduate degree in Management.
