Funded opportunities

Wilson Internships

The L. R. Wilson Internship is an opportunity to gain valuable experience working as a paid summer intern in an organization with a public policy or public service focus. Each year up to three students are selected through a competitive process. Students who are in their third year at the time of the application will be given priority in the selection process.

Philosophy students can now apply, too. In the past, they were reserved for PPE students only, but are now open to Philosophy majors (or really keen minors).  Please contact Dr. Majithia if you want to talk about internship ideas.

Check out this webpage for examples of past student internships. Then visit Career Services where you can find out more about the application process. The deadline to apply is in the winter term.

McKenna Scholar Grant

Funding from the Frank McKenna School of PPE provides students an opportunity to focus on an area of academic research during the summer, under the supervision of a faculty advisor. Students with a strong academic record usually receive between $4000 to $9000. Please contact Dr. Majithia for more details.

Student Teaching Assistants

Upper year students with a strong academic record are encouraged to speak to their professors about working as a TA. Professors often need support during the school year with grading intro classes or running exam period tutorials. TAs are paid an hourly wage and the time commitment is normally 2-5 hours per week or less.
